Time flies by so quickly these days. Next Friday the 19th July is Blackcurrant’s 3rd birthday.
On a cold and wet Monday in 2010, I walked out of my TAFE class and filled with inspiration, took myself to the SBDC (small business development corp) to ask them all I needed to know about registering my business. By the end of the day, I was a fair bit poorer, but had my business registration certificate and domain name paperwork in my eager little hands.
Skip forward 3 years and Blackcurrant photography has evolved from a blog for sharing my coursework and promoting my portraiture business, into a multifaceted website offering a wide variety of my fine art work. I still adore portraiture, but Blackcurrant is now well known for Australian wildflower imagery, home decor, and handmade photo jewellery.
Blog updates are a deviation from my pretty, feminine images and offer an insight into my photo-journalistic street photography style and love of history. I am currently working on a series of images of my place in time, and hope to publish a book once I have created enough photographs.
