My place in time – A river view

This is my place in time.

#22 A river view.

The fact that the Burswood Dome is set to be deflated and demolished within days is what prompted me to go down to the river. I was trying to find a good vantage point that may allow me to see The Dome without being so close that I couldn’t fit it all in the shot. The map led me to believe I could get a view across the river from around the Maylands peninsula area. Unfortunately I couldn’t see it, but I could see parts of the Crown casino building and nice views across the river to the Graham Farmer Freeway, WACA ground, and Perth city skyline.

What a gorgeous little spot this is! Down by the river off East street in Maylands. I was gobsmacked when I drove along East street and got to the crest of a huge hill, only to find the river and city skyline in front of me. What an amazing view! There is a park at the bottom of that hill, complete with electric bbqs, a playground, winding bike tracks, and views right across the water. I can’t wait to go back with a picnic.
