Blackcurrant Photography was started with the idea that you and those you share your life with may like to add to your collections over time, rather than make a large one-off investment.
With this in mind, I charge a little more at the start to cover the work I do before, during and immediately after you get in front of the camera so that your after shoot purchases are reasonably attainable for you, and not a hard sell for me. I hope you find this change refreshing!
I specialise in natural light portraiture for couples and individuals. I am about celebrating you alone or the bond that you share with your partner or best friend. I like to meet you, learn a little about who you are and how you want to display your images, then create something unique to you.
When was the last time you were professionally photographed together – Just the two of you? When you first met? When you were married? At a friend’s event? Ever? One of my couples pictured here were on holiday to Perth and wanted to have some professional pictures taken of them happy and relaxed during their trip. What a lovely memento!
Couples with families have told me that they’ve really enjoyed their ‘date shoots’ – organising a babysitter, a picnic or outing and having their photographs taken. Some have made a whole weekend of it.

I can photograph you casually or you can choose to be quoted for an artistic shoot. The artistic shoots are designed with the idea that whilst it stars you, it could still be enjoyed on anyone’s wall. We take a theme, emotion etc and create something beautiful.
You can choose to add a presentation package to your base coverage or you can choose your own items from the pricelist which is valid and fixed for 90 days post shoot. All formal quotes are accompanied by a pricelist, contract and ordering details and you will receive both hard and digital copies of your paperwork. I am ABN registered (59304159145) and have a registered business in Western Australia.
Please note - Individual sessions are for those aged 12+. A legal guardian must be present for those under 18 (peace of mind and forms to sign!). Please leave smaller family members in the company of a responsible adult for the duration of our session.
